a sound engineer
…and I work as a sound engineer in Aveiro, Portugal. I've been doing this long enough to know that the best records come from creating an environment where artists feel understood, not from using fancy equipment or tricks. At Sine Factory, my studio and second home (my first home if you ask my wife), I make an effort to do that every day.
I've collaborated with a diverse range of musicians over the years, from well-known names to those releasing their first song. The music eventually found its audience, as evidenced by multiplatinum records, chart-climbing songs, and projects with millions of streams. I'm thankful for everything, but it's never the reason I show up.
The process is what I care about. The discussions. the small choices that give a song life. The true magic lies in assisting an artist in discovering their sound or in finding the moment when everything comes together.
I don't want to be everywhere; I just want people to know that there is a place in this small part of Portugal where their music will be respected, taken seriously, and encouraged to reach its full potential.
